Apple is set to release iPhone 7 without headphone jack

Apple is set to release iPhone 7 sometime this year and early reports and independent leaks seem to suggest the company founded by Steve Jobs is ready to abandon the 3.5mm headphone jack and use the Lightning port instead. This has been done in order to shrink the thickness of the phone as well as to drive users towards wireless headphone technology but the changes may come as heartbreaking news to iPhone consumers. It ha also been rumored that removing the 3.5mm jack will allow the iPhone 7 to be completely waterproof.

Lightning-connected earphones are already available from several non-Apple manufacturers such as Philips’ Fidelio including Apple’s Beats Headphones which has already released some new models.
